Abstract: This paper gives preliminary findings of the study of weeding techniques. Trials on different weeding techniques were conducted during the social forestry training project namely, complete, sport weeding, slashing and tractor weeding. This was to determine effects of different weeding techniques on tree growth and survival. The average height for trees under complete weeding was 113.6spot weeding was 75cm while slashing was 43.7 cm.
