dc.description.abstract The historical landscape is being reshaped by the torrent of information known as big data. This research explores the potential of big data to empower historians, not replace them. By analysing vast datasets, historians can uncover hidden patterns, challenge established narratives, and create a more comprehensive understanding of the past. However, the limitations of data quality, inherent incompleteness, accessibility, and the risk of oversimplification necessitate a critical approach. The future of historical writing lies in a balanced partnership between big data's analytical power and traditional methods' focus on context and nuance. This synergy fosters a more inclusive and nuanced understanding of the human experience across time. en_US
